  • Placed first at the Texas A&M Invitational in the 3000 meters, with a time of 8:11.35
  • Logged a new personal record in the 3000m at the UW Invitational with a 8:07.27 mark
  • Set a personal record in the mile at the Iowa State Classic with a time of 4:05.38
  • Took second place and set a personal record at the MPSF Championships in the 5,000m with a time of 13:52.74; it is the seventh-best time in BYU indoor history


  • Took third place at the Trojan Invitational and set a new personal record with a time of 8:57.02 in the 3000S
  • Placed third in the 5000m at the 2016 Oxy Invitational with a 13:59.60 time
  • Qualified for the NCAA Track and Field National Championships and placed 12th overall at the West preliminaries by finishing the 5000m in 14:16.05

Sophmore Year 2017


  • Earned All-America Second Team honors by taking 11th in the 5,000m (13:57.62) at the 2017 NCAA Indoor Championships
  • Set a new personal record in the 3000 meters at the UW Invitational with a time of 7:58.81, finishing in eighth place overall 
  • Set a personal best in the 5000 meters at the Iowa State Classic, claiming seventh place and recording a time of 13:49.00, good enough for sixth place all-time at BYU
  • At MPSF Championships, took second overall in the 5000 meters with a time of 13:59.49


  • Earned All-America First Team honors by taking second in the 10,000m (29:02.96) at the 2017 NCAA Outdoor Championships
  • In his first race of the season, finished the 10,000 meters with a time of 28:58.74 at the Mt. SAC Relays

Junior Year 2018


  • Received first-team All-America honors after taking sixth place overall in the 5000m at the NCAA Indoor Championships (14:16.88)
  • Broke BYU's indoor 5000m record with a time of 13:41.01 at the Iowa State Classic (fourth place)
  • Won the 3000m at the MPSF Indoor Championships with a career-best 7:54.29
  • Competed on the DMR team that took second at the Columbia Challenge (9:36.13) while also finishing sixth in the 3000m (7:55.10)


  • Named first-team All-American after taking eighth place in the 5000m (13:58.20) at the NCAA Outdoor Championships while also receiving All-American honorable mention for his 24th-place finish in the 10,000m (31:37.69) 
  • Won the 10,000m (29:14.29) and placed 10th in the 5000m (13:51.28) at the NCAA West Preliminary Round to qualify for the NCAA Outdoor Championships in both events
  • Ran a career-best 3:51.00 in the 1500m to place seventh overall and took second in the 3000m (8:30.70) at the Pepsi Invitational
  • Clocked a personal record in the 5000m at the Mt. SAC Relays (13:37.98) to finish third overall and move up to No. 8 in the school's outdoor record book
  • Earned a personal-best 28:43.51 for the No. 7 time in BYU history at the Payton Jordan Invitational in the 10,000m (17th place)
Senior Year 2019


  • Opened the season with a career-best 1:53.82 in the 800m at the BYU December Invite
  • Ran the mile in 4:02.41 at the UW Invitational
  • Took eighth in the 3000m at the MPSF Championships (7:56.88)
  • Competed in five meets during the 2019 indoor season


  • Finished 15th in the 10,000m (29:55.21) and was named a second-team All-American at the NCAA Outdoor Championships
  • Won the 10,000m at the NCAA West Preliminary Rounds to advance to Nationals (28:59.43)
  • Earned a personal record and the fifth-fastest 10,000m in BYU history with a time of 28:12.42 at the Payton Jordan Invitational
  • Recorded the ninth-fastest outdoor 5000m in school history with a time of 13:36.41 at the Bryan Clay Invitational
