DEFENSIVE BATTLE
In a game that saw a lot of defense, BYU held its 10th opponent in a row under 300 total yards. Unfortunately the defense holding Boise State to 261 total yards was not enough as the Cougar offense couldn’t help them out with just 200 total yards of their own. In fact, the BYU defense pitched a shutout with BSU’s only points coming on a pick-six.

NOT MUCH IN THE AIR
BYU was held to its lowest passing yardage total since throwing for 41 yards against Utah in 2003, a 3-0 BYU loss.

STOP ‘EM ON 4th
The BYU defense was stout all game, especially on fourth down. BYU held the Bronos to 0 for 5 conversion attempts on 4th down, including a 4th down stop inside the one yard line. BYU actually stopped Boise State four times at the goal line on that possession.

RILEY THE PUNTER
Punter Riley Stephenson had six punts for 282 yards (47.0 yards per punt) including four inside the 20 and four longer than 50 yards.

ZIGGY SNIFFS IT OUT
Defensive lineman/linebacker hybrid Ezekiel Ansah had one of his best games as a Cougar, wreaking havoc in the backfield for the defense. Ansah finished with career highs in tackles (8), tackles for loss (2.5) and picked up his first career sack. Ansah also batted down a pass and snuffed out a 4th down attempt from the Broncos.

OGLETREE’S DEFENSE
Linebacker Brandon Ogletree was another defensive standout, totaling eight tackles including tying a career high with 2.5 tackles for loss.

HOFFMAN KEEPS IT GOING
Wide receiver Cody Hoffman kept his streak alive, now catching at least one pass in 23 straight games and 29 of 30 career games. Hoffman finished the night with three receptions for 21 yards.

RUNNING OUT THE FLAG
Senior defensive lineman Romney Fuga led BYU out of the tunnel carrying the team flag today. Senior defensive back Mike Hague also ran out the special teams flag. Former Cougar tight end Spencer Nead (2001-02) carried the alumni flag.
