Cougars Gear up for Meets in Ogden, Seattle

PROVO, Utah – BYU track and field will compete in the UW Preview at the Dempsey Indoor Track and the Weber State Indoor invitational at Stromberg Arena this weekend, Jan. 29-30.

Members of the women’s distance squad will head to Seattle, Washington, for the UW Preview. Along with individual distance events, the women will attempt to record a time that will put them in a position to qualify for the NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships in the distance medley relay.

BYU will also send a group of athletes up I-15 to compete at the Weber State Invitational in Ogden, Utah. The Cougars traveling to this meet will primarily be participating in Friday’s field events, particularly throws and vertical jumps.

The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) released its first national index ratings of the 2021 indoor season. The BYU men’s team ranked No. 4 nationally and the women’s team ranked No. 24.
