COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- Following the BYU men and women’s track team’s Mountain West Conference Outdoor Championships, 38 student-athletes were named to the All-MWC Outdoor Track and Field Team and both coaches swept the Coach of the Year Awards.

All-MWC selections are based on athletes finishing in the top-three in each event at the MWC Championship meet. From the men's team, 21 were named and from the women's team 17 earned recognition.

This year's MWC Men's Coach of the Year award was given to Mark Robison, who guided the Cougars to their 12th consecutive team title. On the women's side, Patrick Shane earned the award after coaching BYU to its 10th conference crown.

Senior Leif Arrhenius became the fourth-straight Cougar to be awarded the MWC Men's High Point award with 26 points. He claimed titles in the shot put and discus throw, while earning third-place honors in the hammer throw.

BYU also had three relay teams earn All-MWC honors, including the men’s 4x400 team and both the women’s 4x100 and 4x400 teams.

The Cougars are currently preparing for the NCAA West Regional meet on May 26-28.
