BYU distance runners hope to shine at Mt. SAC
PROVO, Utah—BYU men’s track will compete at the Mt. SAC Relays this weekend with hopes to qualify more athletes for regionals, especially in the distance events.
“This weekend is a great opportunity, especially for our distance runners,” head coach Ed Eyestone said. “Mt. SAC is one of our most important meets of the year.”
Curtis Carr will compete in the 3,000-meter steeplechase for the first time this season after taking fourth in the event at the 2013 NCAA Outdoor National Championships.
Jared Ward and Jason Witt will compete in the 5,000 meters, with both having posted qualifying times in the 10,000 meters at the Stanford Invitational. Spencer Gardner will run the 10,000 meters for BYU.
