Postgame Quotes

Tyler Haws

“It’s a great win for our team, for sure. Every conference win is a great win. These gyms may be smaller but they still get a full crowd and it’s tough to win. Santa Clara’s a great team. They kept responding to what we had, but we were able to pull away in the second half.”

“We knew they’d come out strong at the start of the game so we just had to be patient until we got a run of our own. It’s huge when we don’t turn the ball over as much and we were able to do that a lot in the second half. Everyone really stepped up.”

Dave Rose

“There’s no question the key to this win was the team’s effort. It was the best I’ve seen for a full 40 minutes all season. We had our ups and downs, sure, but it never affected how hard we played. Our guys never felt sorry for themselves and never stopped playing with supreme effort. We really needed everyone in this game. Santa Clara is a great team.”

“Our coaching staff did a great job preparing the guys for this Santa Clara team, and our guys were able to execute the way we prepared them to execute.”

“I have confidence in all of our players – five of them play, eight of them practice but want to play. It’s hard to decide who to put in but I’m confident now in our guys that I can put in any of them and they’ll step up when I need them to. I’m really happy with how this team is turning out.”
