Harward to Redshirt 2011-12 Season

PROVO, Utah – BYU basketball coach Dave Rose has announced that 6-foot-11 freshman forward Ian Harward will redshirt the 2011-12 season.

A native of Orem, Utah, Harward served a two-year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in San Antonio Texas upon graduating from high school in 2009. He returned from his mission in August 2011.

Harward played at Orem High School and for the Utah Pump ‘N Run AAU team. As a senior at Orem he averaged 14.0 points per game. Fellow freshmen Austin Nelson and Jaren Sweeney are also redshirting ths season.
