Head coach Dave Rose

“I was really pleased with how guys played. I thought that we attacked for 40 minutes. We got a little bit soft when Nevada went to that zone but we got more comfortable as the game went on. That’s a good win. Trying to get your first win out of your building every year is always a real challenge so I am really proud of our guys.”

On Anson Winder at point guard:
"I really like the way he plays on attack. Craig Cusick does a really good job of getting us in the offense. Anson is probably a little more aggressive with the ball. With the two of them I think we can really build on this and we can become an aggressive, attacking team like we want to be."

"Charles was terrific. I think what happens is when they feel that zone press and they fall back into the zone, if you make one or two mistakes you get really passive. I thought Noah did a great job calling for the ball and making some big shots for us. All you need is a basket every once in a while to give you some confidence and keep attacking."

On a slow finish in the first half:
“You get a few guys that are inexperienced and haven’t played much on the road. If your team makes a mistake or a turnover immediately you want to slow down and be conservative. I really felt like we had a couple guys really bail us out. Noah did a great job and Charles too. That can help other guys relax.”
