Arizona’s Last Outing — Arizona Holds Off Cal State Fullerton, 73-62

TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) - Derrick Williams asserted himself after a quiet first half, finishing with 22 points and 10 rebounds to lead Arizona to a tougher-than-expected 73-62 win over Cal State-Fullerton on Wednesday night.

Arizona (8-1) had trouble with Cal State-Fullerton’s zone all night and hit just 8-of-25 shots from 3-point range to allow the Titans to keep it close until late. Williams took just three shots in the first half, but scored 16 points in the second, including a rebound slam and three-point play during a key run late.

Cal State-Fullerton (3-6) overcame a poor-shooting first half to hit 14-of-26 shots in the second, keeping it close behind Devon Peltier’s 3-point shooting and the inside work of Orane Chin and Jer’Vaughn Johnson.

Peltier hit four 3-pointers and had 19 points, Chin had 14 points and Johnson 13.
