Remember When... Jackson Emery Set the BYU Steals Record?

In 2009-10, Jackson Emery's defensive efforts were historic. The starting guard shattered the BYU steals record with 91 thefts while adding 4.5 rebounds per game and 11 blocks. The previous steals record was 66 set by Marty Haws in 1989-90.

Emery posted a steal in 34 of 35 games played, including a streak of 25-consecutive games with a steal. He had multiple steals 25 times, three-plus steals 17 times and five-plus steals five times, including a career-best six against Utah. With 2.6 steals per game, Emery finished 10th in the nation in steals per game in 2009-10. He is currently fourth all-time at BYU with 146 steals, 47 from tying Danny Ainge for first.

For his efforts, Emery earned All-MWC Second Team and All-Defensive Team honors. He was also named all-district by the USBWA and the NABC.
