Vitale Names Fredette a Preseason All-American
PROVO -- BYU guard Jimmer Fredette has been named to Dickie V’s Preseason All-America First Team. This marks the first preseason All-America honor and third preseason accolade for the Glens Falls, N.Y., native, who was named to five All-America teams and the All-MWC First Team in 2009-10.
In addition to Fredette, the 2010-11 Dickie V’s Preseason All-America First Team includes forwards Kyle Single of Duke and Robbie Hummel of Purdue, forward/center JuJuan Johnson of Purde and guard Malcolm Delaney of Virginia Tech.
Rivals.com named Fredette to its All-Senior squad and its most explosive player heading into the 2010-11 season.
Fredette averaged 22.1 points and 4.7 assists per game in 2009-10 while leading the Cougars to a program record 30 wins and a victory in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.
