Pope set to participate in “Big 12 Hoops in the Park”
PROVO, Utah – The Big 12 Conference announced on Thursday morning that BYU men’s basketball head coach Mark Pope will help lead youth clinics behind held this summer during the Conference’s Rucker Park program, “Big 12 Hoops in the Park”.

The fifth-year head coach will be one of six Big 12 men’s basketball head coaches and five women’s basketball head coaches to travel to New York City to lead clinics. On the men’s side, he will be joined by Scott Drew (Baylor), Wes Miller (Cincinnati), Jerome Tang (Kansas State), Mike Boynton (Oklahoma State) and Jamie Dixon (TCU). Women’s basketball coaches participating included Amber Whiting (BYU), Katrina Merriweather (Cincinnati), Ron Hughey (Houston), Jeff Mittie (Kansas State) and Krista Gerlich (Texas Tech).
Big 12 Hoops in the Park will be held on Tuesday, July 18, in partnership with New York City Parks. Following the clinic sessions, coaches will participate in a Q&A with participating youth. The event will also feature live DJs, food trucks and more.
