PROVO, Utah – BYU men’s basketball head coach Mark Pope officially announced the signing of Jaxson Robinson on Thursday afternoon.

Robinson signs with the Cougars after spending last season at Arkansas, helping the Razorbacks reach the NCAA Elite 8 in back-to-back seasons for the first time since 1994-95.

A 6-foot-6 guard from Ada, Okla., Robinson appeared in 16 games with four starts for the Razorbacks in 2021-22. In 10.2 minutes per game, he averaged 3.4 points per game while shooting 32.6 percent from 3-point range. He scored a career-high 14 points in a 81-55 win over Elon, going 3-of-4 from 3-point range. He followed that up with a six-point, seven-rebound performance against Mississippi State.

He spent his freshman season at Texas A&M playing in 14 of A&M’s 18 games, including four starts. During his time in College Station, he averaged 2.1 points per game, including a season-high six points against Auburn, South Carolina and Ole Miss.

Robinson, a former four-star prospect by 247Sports, ESPN and Rivals, was a Top 50 recruit of 2021 class but reclassified to the 2020 signing class. As a junior, he led Ada High School to the Oklahoma Class 4A State Tournament after averaging 15.4 points, 5.6 rebounds per game.

He becomes the fourth member of BYU’s 2022 signing class, joining four-star prospect Collin Chandler (ranked No. 29 by ESPN), three-star forward Braeden Moore and Coastal Carolina transfer Rudi Williams.
