PROVO, Utah – BYU men’s basketball head coach Mark Pope announced today that junior guard Seneca Knight will join the team as a transfer from LSU for the 2021-22 season.

Knight began his collegiate career at San Jose State University during the 2018-19 season. In 2019-20 as a sophomore, he averaged 17.1 points and 5.7 rebounds in 30 starts. Knight's 156 made free throws were the 16th most in the NCAA.

His 2019-20 campaign led to a top-five finish in the Mountain West Conference in points per game and total points scored, earning him All-MWC third-team honors.

The Louisiana native opted out of the 2020-21 season after playing four games for SJSU before transferring home to LSU. Knight reentered the transfer portal before appearing in a game for the Tigers.

As a 6-foot-7-inch guard, Knight provides the Cougars with great offensive versatility, the ability to draw fouls and collect rebounds.
