Childs repeats as WCC Player of the Week

SAN BRUNO, Calif. – The West Coast Conference has named BYU senior forward Yoeli Childs its Men’s Basketball Player of the Week for March 2, 2020. Childs, who was also the WCC Player of the Week last week on Feb. 24, has four career player of the week honors.

Childs turned in a dominant performance in the regular season finale, scoring a career-best 38 points while tying his season high with 14 rebounds while leading BYU to an 81-64 win at Pepperdine. He hit 17 of 27 from the field, 1 of 3 from 3-point range and 3 of 3 from the free-throw line. His 38 points are tied for the second-most points scored by a WCC player this season.
 
Childs had 17 points in the first half as the Cougars trailed 35-32 heading into the locker room. He led the Cougars to a 49-29 second half with 21 points and nine rebounds. At one point he scored 14 of 19 Cougar points as BYU went from trailing 41-39 to leading 58-50.
