Remembering the late Terry Tebbs
Former BYU men’s basketball player Terry Tebbs passed away on Sunday, June 3. Tebbs, a 5-foot-9 guard who played for the Cougars from 1952-56, was inducted into the Cougar Club Hall of Fame in 1981.
Described as an exciting ball handler and flawless shot, Tebbs earned Associated Press Little All-America First Team honors as a senior in 1955-56 while averaging 19.5 points and 4.4 rebounds. As a junior he earned a spot on the AP Little All-America Second Team while posting averages of 14.6 points and 4.2 rebounds.
Following his BYU career, Tebbs continued to compete in AAU and LDS Church basketball and was named MVP in the All-Church Tournament.
