Mika earns second WCC Player of the Week honor
SAN BRUNO, Calif. – The West Coast Conference has named BYU sophomore Eric Mika its Men’s Basketball Player of the Week for December 12, 2016.
Mika led BYU to a 2-0 week with wins over Weber State (77-66) and Colorado (79-71) while averaging 21.5 points, 8.5 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 2.0 blocks. Against Weber State, Mika scored 26 points on 8 of 16 shooting from the field and 10 of 15 shooting from the free-throw line. He added 10 rebounds and four assists for his fourth double-double of the season.
Mika overcame illness to total 17 points, seven rebounds, a career-best six assists and three blocks to lead BYU to a win against Colorado. He hit 11 of 13 from the free-throw line to give him 10-plus free-throw makes for the second-straight game.
