Cougars defeat CB Castelldefels 82-55

BARCELONA – BYU basketball concluded its tour of Spain with a convincing 82-55 victory over CB Castelldefels on Tuesday. The Cougars finish the tour with a 4-0 record.

Chase Fischer scored a team-high 20 points and hit six 3s. Kyle Davis added a double-double with 14 points, 13 boards and two blocks and Kyle Collinsworth had 13 points, five assists and five steals. Corbin Kaufusi posted seven points and tied for a team high with 13 rebounds while Jordan Chatman and Nick Emery added seven points apiece.

As a team, the Cougars shot 50.0 percent (29-58) from the field and 41.7 percent (10-24) from three. BYU totaled 49 rebounds and 13 steals.

For the third-straight game, the score was close at the half as BYU trailed 36-34. The Cougars tied the score on the first possession of the second half when Corbin Kaufusi threw down a put-back dunk. Chase Fischer scored the next six points on a free throw, a three and a floater as BYU led 42-36 and never looked back.

The Cougars took their first double-digit lead at 52-41 on a Kyle Collinsworth layup and ended the third quarter up a dozen, 56-44.

The fourth quarter was all BYU as the Cougars used a 10-3 run to break the game open. Collinsworth started the quarter with a breakaway dunk and was followed by a pair of Fischer threes. After a layup by Collinsworth, BYU led 66-47.

BYU outscored CB Castelldefels 16-8 the rest of the way to secure the 82-55 win. Fischer led the Cougars with 16 points in the second half, hitting four 3s.
