Quotes from Cougar IMG Sports Network postgame show

BYU head coach Dave Rose

"Our guys played so well. We'll remember this new year's. Not only were we on the road with a home crowd, but we were dialed in on the offensive end sharing the ball. On the defensive end, we were really good with our responsibilities especially with Clark and Brownridge. It just stayed that way with everyone we put in, even the group of guys who played the last four or five minutes."

Starting the game fast:

"You got Anson and Tyler in that starting lineup who have been around a while. Our captains Kyle and Chase, they know that needs to be better for us. We addressed it as a staff and the players really addressed it with how they shared the ball and attacked early in the game."

Clark and Brownridge:

"This time it's a little bit different becaue we decided to stay with the four-guard lineup. All the ball screens, we could switch them and we could switch to a denial or a contest and that stops that initial shot. I just thought that was an advantage for us. We didn't just want to let them roll to the basket and let them be free. We wanted it out of the hands of their shooters early to see how they reacted."

Chase Fischer

Big road win:

"We came in with a great mindset and that's attributed to a lot of veterans and older guys on our team. We wanted to come out and have a really, really good start and come out with a lot of urgency and I think we did. It shows we have a really, really mature team."

Back-to-back games:

"I'm really rounding into form and I feel good physically, my shot feels good. Coming back into college basketball, I'm trying to just not think as much, just kind of playing and reacting and not taking it too seriously."

"You have a lot of ups and downs in life and it's the same in basketball. You're not going to have a good game every game. I've just been enjoying the game and really playing hard. It's easy to play when you've got teammates like we do."

Four-guard lineup:

"I love the four-guards. I've always been a big fan of it since high scool, especially when you have a guy like Kyle who can rebound and Anson plays a lot bigger than he is. It makes the four man really have to guard and stretch the floor and gets a lot of shots for everyone. We're starting our four leading scorers. It's really tough to guard and hard to game plan for. I think we really do a good job defending and that's where we could be exposed on it but when we have to guard bigs, we've handled it well."
