KAZAN, Russia – Tyler Haws and Team USA closed out the World University Games with a 97-70 victory over Finland on Tuesday. The win marked the third-straight victory for Team USA (6-2) and clinched a ninth-place finish for the U.S. at the Games.

Haws hit 4 of 7 from the field, 1 of 2 from three and 1 of 1 from the free throw line for his 10 points, his highest point total of the Games. He also added five rebounds, two assists and one steal in the win.

After scoring seven points in limited playing time during the five pool play games, Haws saw an increased role during the classification tournament and scored nine, six and 10 points in the last three games.

Haws will now return to Provo to continue preparing for the 2013-14 season with his BYU teammates. The junior was seventh in the country in scoring last season at 21.7 points per game. He is the second-leading returning scorer in the nation behind USA teammate Doug McDermott, who averaged 23.2 points for Creighton in 2012-13.
