BYU to host Mercer in second round of NIT

PROVO, Utah – BYU basketball will host Mercer in the second round of the 2013 National Invitational Tournament on Monday, March 25, in the Marriott Center at 7 p.m. MDT. The game will be televised on ESPN or ESPN2 and broadcast on KSL Newsradio 102.7 FM and 1160 AM.

The No. 3 seed Cougars are coming off a 90-79 win over No. 6 seed Washington on Tuesday in the first round. Tyler Haws led BYU with 37 points while Brandon Davies added 22 points and nine boards and Matt Carlino had 20 points and nine assists. Mercer, a No. 7 seed, defeated No. 2 seed Tennessee 75-67 tonight in Knoxville, Tenn.

Tuesday's win over Washington gave BYU a postseason victory in four-straight seasons, a program record.
