BYU, Cincinnati announce football series
BYU, Cincinnati agree to home-and-home football series
PROVO, Utah (Nov. 1, 2012) — Brigham Young University and the University of Cincinnati today announced the schools have agreed to a home-and-home football series for the 2015 and 2016 seasons.
The Cougars and Bearcats will meet at LaVell Edwards Stadium in Provo, Utah, in 2015 with the second game being played at Nippert Stadium in Cincinnati, Ohio, the following season.
“I like this series. This will be the first time our football program has ever played in Cincinnati,” said BYU director of athletics Tom Holmoe. “It meets our objective of playing in different regions of the country and brings another quality football opponent to LaVell Edwards Stadium.”
BYU and Cincinnati have never met in football. The only teams BYU has ever faced from the state of Ohio are Ohio State (1982, 1985, 1993) and Bowling Green (1975, 1983).
