PROVO -- BYU re-entered the national rankings at No. 25 in the week-9 polls released Sunday.

The Cougars moved into the No. 25 slot in The Associated Press Top 25, USA Today Coaches’ Poll and Harris Interactive Poll this week after being out of the rankings last week for the first time since Nov. 11, 2007. BYU's just-completed 29-week run in the national polls was the program's longest since a school-record 35 straight weeks from 1984-1986. BYU was listed 26th in AP and Harris last week and 27th by the coaches'.

Coming off a bye, BYU is 6-2 on the season and travels to Wyoming for a Mountain West Conference showdown with the Cowboys on Saturday at noon MT. The Cougars are one of three MWC schools in the top 25 along with TCU (No. 4 coaches', No. 6 AP and Harris) and Utah (No. 16 coaches' and Harris, No. 17 AP).

Florida, Texas and Alabama are the consensus top-three teams in the polls with TCU and Boise State rounded out the top five in the coaches' poll, while Cincinnati and Boise State fill those positions in AP. Harris voters have Boise State at No. 4 followed by Cincinnati.

The new BCS Standings rank Florida, Texas, Alabama, Iowa and Cincinnati as the top five teams followed by TCU, Boise State, Oregon, LSU and Georgia Tech.

BYU is 154-46 when ranked in the Top 25 and has won 23 of its last 28 games as a ranked team, dating back to 2006.
