PROVO -- ESPN announced today its popular College Football GameDay show will be broadcast live from BYU this coming Saturday, Oct. 24, 2009. Provo will play host to both the radio and television ESPN College GameDay broadcasts.

“It’s a tremendous opportunity for BYU to host ESPN College GameDay on our campus,” said BYU Director of Athletics Tom Holmoe. “The TCU game is sold out and the ESPN shows should add to the great college atmosphere we expect this Saturday.”

ESPN College GameDay Built by The Home Depot will begin broadcasting live on Saturday at 10 a.m. ET / 8 a.m. MT. College GameDay host Chris Fowler will be joined by ESPN analysts Lee Corso, Kirk Herbstreit and Desmond Howard for the live television broadcast.

College GameDay on ESPN Radio will begin broadcasting from BYU at 2 p.m. ET / noon MT as Ryen Russillo, Trevor Matich and Brad Edwards cover the college football scene. The radio show will include interviews, analysis, previews and predictions. Matich, the starting center for the BYU National Championship football team, will have his underdog pick of the week. Russillo will document his trip to Provo as part of his weekly online feature “Russillo on the Road.”

Additional information, including broadcast locations, will be provided later this week.

BYU hosts TCU in a Mountain West Conference battle Saturday at LaVell Edwards Stadium. The Cougars are No. 16 in the first BCS standings released Sunday, while the Horned Frogs are ranked No. 8. The game will be broadcast nationally on VERSUS, with kickoff scheduled for 7:30 ET / 5:30 p.m. MT.
