What does your job entail?

My two main focuses are recruiting and our summer football camps. I also assist our Director of Football Operations, Duane Busby, in his various jobs within the football department.

What is a typical day like for you?

Everyday is different, they’re not all the same. Typically I spend alot of time with recruiting. That may include planning offical visits, overseeing our mailings, checking the academic staus of our current recruits or helping one of our coaches with a problem he may have. Depending on what time of the year it is, I could also be working on one of our Jr. Days, Coaches Clinic, or our Summer Football Camps and 7 on 7 tournament. Either way there is always something happening in the football offices.

How long have you worked here at BYU?

This will be my fourth season. I started working in July of 2006.

Where were you before coming to BYU?

I was at Boise State University before I came to BYU. While I was there helped over see our athletic facilities, game operations, football travel and any NCAA & Conference Championships we hosted.

What do you like most about working at BYU?

BYU’s a place I always wanted to be at. My dad played here in the late 60s and so when the opportunity came, I was going to take it. It came a lot earlier than I thought it would. I really enjoy the quality of the kids that we have here, but I also really enjoy working with the guys on our staff. They’re a bunch of great guys and fun to be around with. Behind closed doors we have a lot of good laughs. Our kids and our coaches are really the most fun about being here at BYU.

Tell me about your family.

My wife’s name is Celeste and she’s from Samoa. We have two kids—a little boy named Jared, he’s 11, and a little girl, Malia, who’s four.

What has been your favorite game since working at BYU?

Both times we beat Utah in 2006 and 2007 were pretty memorable. Those are games that always stick out in my mind. Also, the UCLA game last year.
