PROVO, Utah — Current corporate partner Built Brands, LLC today announced it’s re-upping the NIL deal that made national headlines last year while also producing a new CougarTail bar, with a percent of all sales going to BYU football players and the BYU Athletics program.

The more CougarTail bars that are sold, the more BYU Athletics, including the football program, will receive and the more individual players can receive through NIL agreements. The new CougarTail item is a Built Bar puff and is modeled after the signature CougarTail maple bar donut sold at BYU athletic events, created by BYU Dining Services.

Built’s individual NIL agreements with BYU players include the opportunity for compensation to all members of the team and will once again include agreements with all 36 walk-on players.

“We are grateful for Built Brand’s continued innovation and support for our Built4Life program that helps empower our players to build upon a foundation of love, learning and service,” said Kalani Sitake, BYU football head coach. “Nick’s vision, like our own, focuses on the whole and elevating everyone around us. We look forward to this next chapter of our relationship, including partnering with Built on the Built for Good campaign, and providing even more player development opportunities for our entire team. I also love how the new CougarTail bar so uniquely reflects a popular tradition of BYU sporting events and the tastes of Cougar Nation.”

The Built for Good campaign is seeking to end childhood hunger, supplying food for kids in need.

The football team first learned of the new details of this year’s deal with Built after a scrimmage at LaVell Edwards Stadium on Saturday, with Cosmo parachuting into the stadium.

“We created a new bar, just for you guys. Fifteen percent of all sales go back to you guys,” said Nick Greer, co-founder and CEO of Built Brands, to the BYU football team on Saturday. “People are going to love it. People are going to know about Cougar Nation.”

Continuing its relationship with BYU Athletics, Built will also provide additional funding to the BYU football program as part of its corporate partnership with BYU. Much of this funding goes towards fueling the football team. Last year Built placed fueling areas in the two football locker rooms—one in the Student-Athlete Building and one in LaVell Edwards Stadium. These walls are inspired by the signature Built Bar wall located near the entryway at the Built headquarters in American Fork, Utah.

New this year, Built sponsorship will be displayed on the team benches on the field at LaVell Edwards Stadium.
