Wilson earns Davey O'Brien, Manning Award weekly honors
BYU quarterback Zach Wilson was named to the Davey O'Brien National Quarterback Award's Great 8 list following his 392-yard performance against Troy. He was also added to the Davey O'Brien Award Midseason Watch List and was one of the Manning Award Stars of the Week.
BYU has four Davey O'Brien Awards, including back-to-back wins by Ty Detmer. Steve Young and Jim McMahon also won the award.
Wilson also earned recognition as one of the Manning Award Stars of the Week for the second time in 2020. Fans can vote for the Manning Award Quarterback of the Week award HERE. Wilson previously won the honor following the Navy game.
A junior, Wilson completed 23 of 27 passes for 392 yards against the Trojans and was responsible for four total touchdowns with two in the air and two rushing scores. His pass efficiency rating for the game was 231.59. On the season, Wilson has completed 80 percent of his passes (36 of 45) for 624 yards and four touchdowns.
Wilson was also an honorable mention for the CFPA National Quarterback of the Week honors.
