Seaver elected to CSVA Executive Board Secretary
PROVO, Utah – (May 26, 2015) BYU’s Football Video and Technology Coordinator Errol Seaver has been elected to the executive board position of secretary for the Collegiate Sports Video Association, the organization announced Tuesday.
“I’m humbled and honored that my peers and counterparts at other universities elected me,” Seaver said. “I’m excited to work on behalf of my colleagues to make our position of video coordinator more noticeable within college sports.”
Peer sports videographer members of the CSVA elected Seaver to one of four executive board positions, which was announced by the nonprofit organization on May 13 at its annual conference held in Phoenix, Arizona. He will serve a two-year term.
"Errol does a fantastic job and will represent BYU and his professional association well," BYU head coach Bronco Mendenhall said. "As his peers have recognized, Errol is well deserving of this appointment."
Seaver came to BYU in February 2014 after holding previous positions with South Alabama, the Big 12, Jacksonville State and Lenoir-Rhyne College.
His ability has also been recognized in the past when he was named the 2013 Sun Belt Conference Video Coordinator of the Year by the CSVA and a finalist for the Bob Matey National Video Coordinator of the Year Award.
Seaver is responsible for the video and technology needs of the Cougar football program including the filming of games and practices, opponent video exchange, self-scout and opponent breakdowns, as well as the computer network and video database used by coaches and players for analysis and game preparation. He also directs weekly motivational and various other highlights for the football team.
According to the Collegiate Sports Video Association’s website, the objective of the organization is to promote of the role of the video coordinator position in the sports industry by providing a place for dialogue and development within the profession.
