Errol Seaver is in his fifth year as the Director of Football Video and Technology at BYU and 15th overall in college football. In May 2017, he was named the Bob Matey National Video Coordinator of the Year by the Collegiate Sports Video Association (CSVA) for his work and display of determination, perseverance and technical skill.

At the conclusion of the 2016 season he received Independent Video Coordinator of the Year honors. He was previously named 2013 Sun Belt Conference Video Coordinator of the Year while at South Alabama. In 2015, he was elected to serve as Secretary of CSVA and was reelected for a second term in 2017.

Seaver is responsible for all video and technology needs of the BYU football program and the content and equipment used by coaches and players for analysis and game preparation. Prior to the 2017 season, Seaver designed and coordinated the renovation of the football video office. On a daily basis he oversees the filming of practices and games, opponent video exchange, and self-scout, opponent and NFL game breakdowns. Managing the in-house video network of over 50 computers and 6 servers, in addition to the cloud-based network and over 150 iPads, Seaver makes sure players and coaches can access video and communicate anytime, anywhere.

During his time in Provo, Seaver has streamlined the filming and editing process for the football program. By installing fiber optic cable throughout LaVell Edwards Stadium his staff is able to provide coaches and players video within minutes following the completion of games.

Seaver has worked alongside mobile device leader, Apple, to collaborate and share ways to improve and increase the use of mobile technology within college athletics. In April 2017, he was invited to speak at Apple’s headquarters in Cupertino, California sharing methods and ideas with Apple developers, college coaches, university administrators and technology professionals from across the country.

In addition to game analysis and preparation, Seaver manages the content creation and digital signage utilized throughout the football offices. He also directs weekly motivational highlights, player highlights and other videos needed for the football program.

Prior to BYU, he served as the Director of Football Video at the University of South Alabama where he was responsible for the day-to-day operations of the video department and orchestrated over $350,000 in upgrades to video equipment and software, while also designing and overseeing the construction of the program’s first video room. During his time at USA, Seaver played a vital role in developing and promoting the Jaguar football brand through production and social media. His efforts helped the Jaguars become bowl eligible in their first year as an FBS program.

In 2010, Seaver served as the Assistant Director of Video for the Big 12 Conference with duties that included working with the league’s officials in addition to assisting with live broadcasts of conference championships. In his role he aided in the breakdown and analysis of Big 12 football games for officials’ purposes, worked in conjunction with current and former NFL officials in the evaluation of officials’ mechanics and accuracy and produced videos for officials’ training, clinics and conferences.

Before his stint in the league office Seaver was the Football Video Coordinator for two years at Jacksonville State University where he was responsible for the day-to-day operations of the video department. During his time at JSU Seaver implemented and produced motivational and season highlight videos. He helped advance the program by upgrading equipment and streamlining the editing process, allowing coaches to be more efficient during team and position meetings. His efforts helped the Gamecocks record back-to-back 8-3 finishes, and a Top 25 FCS national ranking.

He spent four years at Lenoir-Rhyne College (N.C., Division II) serving as the program’s football video coordinator from 2002-05. Seaver was responsible for day-to-day operations and led the efforts of the Bears upgrade from an analog to digital video editing system.

A native of Hickory, N.C., Seaver is married to the former Lindsey Kenz. He earned his bachelor’s degree in communications, electronic media/broadcasting in 2008 from Appalachian State University, and his master’s degree in public administration/athletic administration from Jacksonville State University in 2010. Seaver has been a member of CSVA since 2008 and American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) since 2011.
