LAFAYETTE, La. — Louisiana defeated BYU, 11-0, in game two of a four-game baseball series at M.L. Moore Field at Russo Park in Lafayette on Thursday night.
The Ragin’ Cajuns, who advanced to the NCAA regionals in 2022, improved to 4-1 this season, while the Cougars dropped to 2-4.

• Louisiana scored 11 runs on 13 hits, while BYU collected five hits
• Ozzie Pratt’s double in the third inning gives him an NCAA D1 leading seven for the season
• Winning pitcher Tommy Ray went six innings, surrendering just three hits for the win
• Ozzie Pratt: 1-4, 2B
• Cole Gambill: 1-3, 2B
• Ryan Sepede: 1-2, 1B, BB

Louisiana jumped out to an early lead in the first inning on two hits and a walk for a 2-0 lead. Two successful bunt squeezes in the bottom of the fourth gave the Ragin’ Cajuns two more runs and a 4-0 advantage.
Four runs in the fifth inning increased the Louisiana lead to 8-0, and three more in the eighth pushed the final score to 11-0.
Game three of the four-game series is scheduled for Friday at 6 p.m. CST.
