The third Kehl son to play BYU football, Bryan Kehl came from Brighton High School in Salt Lake City, Utah. Kehl was named the team's defensive MVP and received the Strength and Conditioning Award in 2007. He recorded the second-most tackles that year with 84, including 48 tackles on his own. Kehl captained a defense that ranked 10th in the nation and did not allow a 100-yard rushing game all season. He also received All-Mountain West Conference academic honors in both his junior and senior years.
