Born 12/17/75 in Torrejon, Spain where his father was in the military...parents are Mike and Pat...likes to write short stories...never played football until he was a prep freshman when his first carry was a 70-yard TD run...recruited by Willamette University and Oregon St....majoring in English teaching and a minor in coaching.

Before BYU

Was two-time All-Capital Conference at Stayton Union High in Sublimity, Oregon...all-league in kickoff returns...team captain and MVP...district wrestling champion at 191 pounds...played tailback and linebacker...lettered four times in track, three times in football and three times in wrestling...coached by Steve Giese (Western Oregon).

Freshman Year 1995

Was the leading rusher in the spring game with 67 yards off of 14 carries for the Blue team...had an eight-yard run against Hawai`i...played on special teams against New Mexico...selected by coaches as special teams player of the game against Utah.

Sophmore Year 1996

for 63 yards in the spring game...had a 14-yard TD catch vs. UNLV.

Junior Year 1997

Cougar Club Scholar-Athlete...had four catches at New Mexico, including a 60-yard TD reception...had a 32-yard catch vs. Utah St.,...caught four passes for 44 yards, including a 20-yard TD vs. Tulsa...started vs. Tulsa, New Mexico, and Utah.
