Before BYU

Lettered in football, basketball, and track at Mountain View High in Orem, Utah...was on the honor roll and served as Student Body President...named All-American, all-state, all-region in football...received most improved award in basketball...won the presidential physical fitness award...was an honorary member of the Rotary Club...coached by Bryce Monsen (BYU).

Freshman Year 1997

Played most of the season on special teams...suffered a concussion at Arizona St.

Sophmore Year 1998

Named coaches' outstanding defensive lineman for UNLV game...registered three unassisted tackles and one tackle-for-loss against UNLV...had three assisted tackles and one tackle-for-loss at UTEP...came off the bench to pick up two solo tackles at Utah...finished off the season with a tackle-for-loss and an assisted tackle in the Liberty Bowl vs. Tulane.

Junior Year 1999

Named second team All-Mountain West Conference recorded 39 tackles on the season, including 27 assisted tackles credited with 10 tackles for a combined loss of 55 yards, including seven sacks for minus-48 yards recorded one interception on the season in a 34-13 BYU win over Colorado State ranked second on the team with 10 quarterback hurries recorded four sacks against New Mexico, including solo sacks on back-to-back plays for the first time in BYU history concluded his junior season with six tackles against Marshall in the Motor City Bowl, including five solo takedowns selected by the BYU coaches as the defensive line player of the game against Colorado State and New Mexico.
