In 2001: Started 13-of-13 regular-season games and listed as a starting linebacker in the 2001 Liberty Bowl (against No. 22 Louisville)... an honorable-mention All-MWC selection... voted Honorable Mention Media All-MWC... received coaches awards for his performances against California, Utah State and Colorado State... ranked third on the BYU roster with 69 tackles on the season, including 39 solo takedowns... credited with two interceptions for a total of 17 yards... made three pass deflections... turned in a season-high defensive performance against Colorado State, recording 13 tackles... started the season off with an interception against Tulane, returning it 17 yards to set up a BYU touchdown.
