Parents are Orville and Karen Fisher... one of seven children (all boys)... twin brother, Paul, also plays for BYU... father played basketball for BYU (1964-1968), helping the Cougars to the NIT Championship in 1966... served an LDS Church mission to Santiago, Chile... signed with the University of Utah out of high school... recruited by Kentucky, Arizona, USC, UCLA, Miami (Fla.), Virginia Tech, Oregon, Nebraska, Tennessee, Maryland, Georgia Tech, Michigan, Syracuse and Washington.
Before BYU
A two-time high school All-American... a four-year letterwinner at Dixie High School... led Dixie HS to a state championship in 1999... a two-time all-region and all-state selection... a four-year letterwinner in track... won the state championship in both the shot put and discus.
Participated in spring drills ... listed as a back-up at left tackle entering fall camp.
Redshirted after returning from a Church mission in Chile.
