Career Summary

Skye PoVey came to BYU from Snow College. He played in 39 games during his four years as a Cougar and started in 15. PoVey recorded 128 total tackles, 10 pass breakups and three interceptions during his career. As a senior, PoVey led the team in total tackles, solo stops and assisted tackles. He notched a career-high 11 tackles during the Cougars' win against California in 2014. PoVey helped BYU to a No. 22 national ranking in scoring defense in 2013.   • Tallied five tackles and one pass breakup against Idaho State
  • Finished eighth on the team with 47 total tackles

Senior Year 2014

  • Recorded 10 total tackles in win at UConn for a career-high
  • Tied career-best in solo tackles with six in win against Virginia
  • Recorded his first interception of the season and second of his career against UCF
  • Named to the College Sports Madness All-Independent First Team
  • Attained a career high with 11 total tackles to go along with two pass breakups and an interception in the 42-35 victory at Cal
  • Had his first-career fumble recovery in the first quarter of the bowl game, finishing the game with nine tackles, one tackle for loss and one pass breakup

  • Led team in total tackles (78), solo stops (55) and assisted tackles (23) while also recording four tackles for loss, one sack, two interceptions, five pass breakups and one fumble recovery in 2014
