Before BYU

Kicked a 58-yard field goal at Judson High in Converse...all-district, All-City (San Antonio) and all-senior...coached by D.W. Rutledge (Texas Lutheran).

Freshman Year 1988

Sixth on the team in scoring...had six of eight PATs...used for long field goal attempts...went five for 12.

Sophmore Year 1989

Used as punter to fill the shoe of Pat Thompson during spring practice...wont he Geneva Steelman Award against Hawai'i...was the main punter, but replaced the injured Jason Chaffetz in the Holiday Bowl.

Junior Year 1990

Selected first team All-WAC as a placekicker...longest field goal was a 44-yarder at Wyoming...longest attempt as a 54-yarder against Miami...would have been the WAC punting champion, but he lacked one more punt to qualify...led the NCAA in punting through September...selected coaches player of the game against UTEP and Miami.
