Was all-conference, all-region and all-state as a running back at Valley High...named Nevada's Gatorade Player of the Year in 1989-90...team won the division championship in 1989...coached by Dave Gerber.

Selected as the NJCAA Player of the Year in 1991 at Dixie College in St. George, Utah...was an All-American and league MVP as a sophomore after being all-conference as a freshman...coached by Greg Croshaw.
Honorable Mention All-WAC...sixth at BYU for rushing yards per carry in a single season (5.4)...had two 100-yard rushing days in first two games of the season (UTEP- 114 yards, San Diego State- 143 yards)...scored a 67-yard touchdown vs. San Diego State...hospitalized with a concussion against Hawai'i...best performance came in Homecoming game vs. Fresno State with 20 carries for 157 yards and 2 TDs...also scored a touchdown against Penn State when he had 117 yards rushing...named outstanding back of the game vs. San Diego State, Fresno State and Penn State...nursed an ankle injury through second half of the season.
