Born 1/2/71 in Lancaster, Pennsylvania...parents are Jim and Bonnie...served a church mission to San Juan, Puerto Rico...married Melissa Harkness in December, 1992, and they have a son, Taylor...recruited by Air Force, California, San Diego State, Vanderbilt, Washington State and UCLA...graduated with a bachelor's in international relations...is attending graduate school.
Before BYU
Graduated from Torrey Pines High...lettered three years in football and volleyball and one year in track and soccer...named first-team all-league and MVP in volleyball..coached by Rick Haines.
Played with the junior varsity.
Was Academic All-WAC...started the opener at New Mexico and had two unassisted tackles...had two tackles and pass deflections at Utah State.
Academic All-WAC...had a key sack at Notre Dame against quarterback Ron Powlus...also had five unassisted tackles, five assisted tackles, a pass deflection and a quarterback hurry against the Irish...selected as the coaches' player of the game (secondary) against Colorado State and Notre Dame...started in six games...had 11 tackles, five of them unassisted, and a pass deflection against Utah State.
