Born 12/20/72 in Renton, Washington...parents are Bob and Bobbi...prepped at Mercer Island High School, but did not play football until his senior year at BYU...younger brother, Owen, plays football for BYU...served an LDS Church mission to Berlin, Germany...majored in film/photography.

Second team All-WAC by the coaches...selected as special teams impact player of the year by the BYU coaches...WAC Mountain Division Special Teams Player of the Week for Arkansas State... coaches' special teams player of the game vs. UNLV and Rice...WAC Special Teams Player of the Week against Hawai'i...broke school season scoring record at Utah (109)...semifinalist for the Lou Groza Collegiate Place-Kicker Award...finished 15th in NCAA field goals with a 1.4 average and was 20th in scoring at 8.79 points per game...made 61 consecutive PAT conversions, a school record for a season and career at BYU-old record was 37 by Jason Chaffetz, 1989 in a season and 53 by David Lauder 1992 and 1994 for a career...also kicked two PATs in the Cotton Bowl along with a 39-yard field goal...set the school record with 123 points in one season (old record was 91 by Earl Kauffman for kick scoring in 1990 and 96 by Waymon Hamilton, 1981), which is the sixth best in WAC history...set the school record for 21 field goals made this season (old record was 18 Leonard Chitty, 1987)...tied for the fourth longest field goal in BYU history with a 51-yarder against Tulsa...converted a 320yard field goal to give sixth-ranked BYU a 28-25 overtime victory over 19th-ranked Wyoming in the inaugural WAC Championship at Las Vegas, Nevada...extended the drama into overtime by making a 20-yard field goal to tie the score as regulation time expired.
