Born 8/15/71...parents are Robert and Glennis...Valedictorian and National Honor Society President at Kanab High School...served an LDS church mission to Manaus, Brazil...married Erika Anderson in July, 1993 and they have a daughter, Hannah, and a son, Josh...majored in civil engineering with a minor in Portuguese and graduated as a junior from BYU...completed a master's in computer integrated manufacturing.
Selected as first team Freshman All-America and Almost All-America by The Football News...honorable mention All-WAC...won the national AT&T Long Distance Award against UTEP for a 48-yard punt...had a 55-yard punt against Notre Dame and was selected by the coaching staff as special teams player of the game...had a 61-yard punt against Fresno State...ranked ninth among all punters in the nation with a 43.13 average in punting.
Selected GTE/CoSida Second Team Academic All-America, National AT&T Long Distance Player of the Week (AFA), GTE/CoSida Academic All-District VIII Academic All-Western Athletic Conference and Second Team All-Western Athletic Conference...longest punt of the season was a 62-yarder against Arizona State...finished 26th in the NCAA with a 41.7 yard average.

Repeat selection to the GTE Academic All-America (CoSida) second team...GTE Academic All-District VIII...Academic All-WAC...selected as the outstanding special teams player of the year by the BYU coaches...had a 49-yard punt vs. Texas A&M...a 53-yard punt vs. Washington...coaches' special teams player of the game vs. Washington...did not punt vs. SMU...punts of 59, 62 and 65-yards at Tulsa for 46.2 average in six punts...had a 53.3 average in six punts vs. Wyoming in WAC Championship...punted 204 times (201 old record) for 8,626 yards and a 42.3 average in his four-year career as BYU's starting punter.
