Played as both an offensive and defensive lineman at Mountain View High...was two-time all-region...team was region champ...coached by Austin McNaughton (BYU).

Played two years for Ricks College.
Had three tackles and a hurry in brief action as a defensive tackle and nose guard.
Alternated with first unit at nose guard during spring practice...switched to center, then back to nose guard in the fall...redshirted.
