Parents are Tony and Sharron...recruited by Nebraska, USC, Tennessee, San Diego State and Hawai'i...majoring in administration management.

Before BYU

Lettered four times in football, three times in track, twice in baseball...football honors included all-league, All-CIF, All-Southern California, all-state and league defensive player of the year...coached by Jim Brownfield at John Muir High.

BYU Hall of Fame

Freshman Year 1988

Returned five kickoffs for 115 yards in the spring game...averaged 20.8 yards on 17 kickoff returns (354 yards) during the season...his 79-yard touchdown return against Air Force broke open a close game as the Cougars went from a 31-28 deficit to a 49-31 victory.

Sophmore Year 1989

Earned backup spot at left corner in spring practice...started at left corner after game eight against Oregon, when Eric Bergeson was moved to safety to replace Troy Fuller who was injured at Hawai'i...had eight tackles and caused two fumbles against Oregon...was a backup safety and returned punts and kickoffs.

Junior Year 1990

Second team All-WAC...had a pass interception against Colorado State...had a 37-yard pass interception he returned for a touchdown at Air Force and was selected as coaches defensive back of the game.

Senior Year 1991

Had off-season knee surgery.
