Parents are Dean and Jackie...loves surfing...wants to become an attorney...served an LDS mission out of high school to Calgary, Canada...married Lori Iverson in May, 1986...recruited by Utah and San Diego State...majoring in political science.

Before BYU

High School - Played wide receiver and defensive back at Marina High...lettered three times in football and twice in baseball...was All-Sunset League, All-Orange County and All-CIF Southern Section...was team MVP...had one game with 230 yards receiving, three TD catches and nine receptions...coached by Dave Thompson.

Freshman Year 1985

Walked on to start with the junior varsity.

Sophmore Year 1987

Caught three passes for 28 yards in backup role...suffered a mild concussion in TCU game...honorable metnion academic All-WAC.

Junior Year 1988

Caught 20 passes for 417 yards whil making six starts at split end...had a 66-yard touchdown against UTEP...caught four passes for 90 yards, including a 39-yard TD against Utah State...caught a critical third-down-and-four catch for 29 yards to set up the tying field goal in the fourth quarter of the Freedom Bowl.
