Parents are Myron and Charlene...brother, Darrin, played defensive back at Utah State...majoring in business/marketing.

Before BYU

High School - A four-sport letterman at Alta High School...was all-region and all-state in football both junior and senior years...was All-American senior year...team MVP...co-captain of football, basketball and baseball teams...took sixth in the state in the javelin throw...holds school record for most interceptions in a single game and most points socred in a season (78)...team won state championship in 1983 and was runnerup in '84...recruited by Arizona, UCLA, Hawai'i, Stanford, Utah State and Utah...coached by Doug Berry (Southern Utah State).

BYU Hall of Fame

Freshman Year 1985

One of only two freshman to letter on the varsity...had an interception vs. Utah State...was special teams player-of-the-week vs. Temple after he fielded an on-side kick...returned six punts for an average of 5.7 yards per return.

Sophmore Year 1986

Started three games as a replacement for injured Korey Rasmussen...intercepted a pass against New Mexico..had a game-high seven unassisted tackles against Temple.

Junior Year 1987

First team All-WAC and AP honorable mention All-American...led team in tackles (122) and defensive points...had seven tackles for loss and six interceptions.
