Selected to play in the East-West Shrine game ... selected by the BYU coaches as the offensive lineman of the game vs. Pittsburgh, Tulsa and Utah ... highest blocking percentage was 94 percent at Utah ... careened Michigan bully Mike Hammerstein with a leveling block when the DT was pursuing Robbie Bosco who had been flushed out of the pocket ... switched to right tackle from right guard in spring drills to accommodate the move by Robert Anae to that slot
