Had a good spring...WAC player of the week against SDSU...six times he was selected by the coaches as running back of the week...honorable mention All-WAC...set a new school record of five TDs in one game against Utah State...against USU he rushed for 67 yards and caught three passes...scored his first TD of '79 against Weber State and caught six passes for 66 yards against the Wildcats...became the first BYU player in four years at BYU to rush over 100 yards when he netted 102 yards against Hawai'i...scored two TDs against SDSU, one on a 57-yard pass and one on a 52-yard run...against SDSU he rushed for 111 yards and caught three passes for 78 yards...against Indiana in the Holiday Bowl, he scored two TDs and caught nine passes for 79 yards...season totals: 595 yards (leading rusher) rushing on a 6.3 average, 477 yards receiving on 3.5 catches per game and 12 TDs for 72 points (second only to the kicker Brent Johnson at 82).
