Before BYU

Coach and Athlete All-American...halfback and defensive tackle for Superior Cal's number one football team...Golden Helmet player of the year...coached by Dewey Guerra.

Freshman Year 1975

Played on the freshman squad.

Sophmore Year 1979

Was converted from linebacker to fullback in spring...played at fullback against Texas A&M and Weber State...caught a two-point conversion for the go-ahead points against the Aggies...scored a touchdown against Weber...was moved back to linebacker to cover for the loss of the injured Danny Frazier...after backin up at weakside linebacker for the remainder of the season, converted to tight end.

Junior Year 1980

Scored a touchdown following Bill Schoepflin's blocked punt against San Diego State...recovered a fumble against UNLV...was a backup linebacker and saw lots of special team action last season...was named coaches' player of the game on special teams three times (Wisconsin, UTEP, UNLV).
