Parents are Lloyd and Julie...married to Bonnye Savage.

Before BYU

A track and football star at Canesha High...won four letters in both sports in addition to three letters in basketball...a scholar athlete...made all-prep, all-league and all-valley as a gridder...as a 120-yard high hurdler, he was champion for the league, CIF masters and the State of California...also ran 330-yard lows...received Russell Stickler award.

Freshman Year 1976

Outstanding as a freshman.

Sophmore Year 1978

The WAC indoor 60-yard hurdles champion...had lengthy receptions in four varsity games.

Junior Year 1979

Injured during spring ball...best outdoor time in the 110-meter hurdles was 14.08...one of the fastest players on the squad...All-WAC, AP honorable mention All-American and All-Rockies...three times named player of the game among receivers...had two key receptions against Utah State...four times surpassed the 100-yard mark in passing yards...against Weber State he was four for 118 yards...against Utah State he was seven for 153 yards...against New Mexico he was eight for 153 yards and one TD...against Utah he was six for 134 yards...he had one reception against Colorado State - a 72-yard TD catch...netted 735 yards in receptions to lead the team...season totals: 33 catches for 735 yards and two TDs.
