Before BYU

While at Arvada West High, he was a member of National Honors Society...a member of all-state tournament team...was an all-conference football player for two years...team was all-conference champions for two years...he was an all-metro and all-state selection...all-conference in track and basketball...coached by Brian McGregor (Debuque).

BYU Hall of Fame

Freshman Year 1977

Great job of receiving for JV corps...danced his way for two TDs against Air Force, three TDs with Dixie and two against Snow College...longest was a 41-yarder against Air Force.

Sophmore Year 1978

Outstanding receiver in spring drills...traveled with varsity squad...caught 10 passes for 148 yards...those receptions came in seven games, not including a 25-yard Holiday Bowl reception...best game was against Oregon where he caught three passes for 46 yards.

Junior Year 1979

A regular in varsity rotation...scored his first TD of the season against Weber State...also caught three passes for 86 yards...against Hawai'i he caught four passes for 58 yards and one TD...scored TDs against Utah State, New Mexico, Colorado State, Long Beach State and San Diego State...season stats: 21 receptions for 379 yards and seven TDs.
